About the Project
This project aims to bring a substantial contribution to Rwandan efforts striving to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs), especially SDG 3 aiming to ensure quality education and SDG 3 seeking to ensure health and well-being for all, at every stage of life.
Specific Aims
Specific Aim 1
To assess the clinical efficacy of the piloted innovative eHealth technology (home and medical automated evaluation of the blood pressure with live management of elevated BP) in two outpatient NCD clinics in Rwanda. Hypothesis 1: Patients using the HearCare@Home System will have lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure and higher control rates than individuals in standard of care
Specific Aim 2
To determine the feasibility and acceptability of the eHealth technology in Rwanda’s noncommunicable diseases (NCD) clinics through a KAP (Knowledge, attitudes, and practices) study towards patients and healthcare providers. Hypothesis 2: Patients and healthcare providers using this innovative eHealth technology will rate the intervention as highly acceptable (as rated using the Feasibility and Acceptability of Intervention Measures) and have a controlled HTN versus standard of care (SoC).
